Welcome to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Children’s Wing!

This wing of the Pittston Memorial Library officially opened in August of 2015, and it is full of fun for your young ones!
We do ask that an adult is present with anyone ages 12 and younger in this wing.

Babies & Books – Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10:30AM
Connect with other parents on a weekly basis and bring your little ones for nursery rhymes, books, and more! For infants up to 2 years old.

Toddler/Preschool Storytime – Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11AM
Let’s have fun while we listen to stories, sing some songs, and participate in other fun activities! For children 2-5 years old, however, all children are welcome!

Building Hours – Thursdays 3PM
Each week, we will be making fun creations out of various blocks to display in the Children’s Department. Children and their parents and guardians are welcome to participate!

Homeschool Hangout – Fridays 11AM
For homeschooled children ages 5-12 and their parents, join us for games, puzzles, crafts, and more!

BINGO for Kids – Fridays 1PM
Make new friends and have fun playing this classic game! For children up to 12 years old.

Scavenger Hunts
Each month, a new scavenger hunt will be available for children of all ages to participate in and take home a cool prize! Children are allowed to participate each day they come in, but just one prize per visit.

Be sure to follow the Pittston Memorial Library on Facebook for the additional programming and events!

In 2025, the Pittston Memorial Library has successfully completed the Play & Grow Library project. The focus of this project is to create high quality preschool programming and creating early childhood areas that appeal to families with children from birth to Kindergarten. Programming focuses on the importance of play, integrating opportunities for social emotional learning, and family engagement. Materials wee provided through funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) through the Library Sciences and Technology Act (LSTA).
